Coogee Beach

Whether it's a lazy day on the beach or a place to chill with your friends, Coogee Beach is the place to be. With a long white sandy beach, numerous cafes, bars and restaurants and one of the best beer gardens in Sydney this small suburb has it all.

When I arrived in Coogee and found out my new home was a stones throw from the beach I could not be happier. Knowing I could run to the sea for a quick swim in the mornings or have a tanning session before work was like a dream come true... Especially as I am from England.

Unlike all other beaches in Sydney, Coogee beach is surround by beautiful greenery where you are allowed to drink alcohol... BONUS.

What better way to spend you weekend than with your friends, a crate of beer and soaking up the rays whilst overlooking the beautiful views Coogee has to offer.

When you have frazzled in the sun and need a cool refreshment, what more could you want than an ice cold beer in the Coogee Bay Hotel. Right on the waterfront with an impressive beer garden were you can relax and catch up with friends. The pub has fab food on a daily basis and at weekend holds a bbq and hog roast where everyone can get involved.

Every night the pub also has a live band with  range of different music so you can always guarantee a good singalong and after a few too many beers throw some shapes on the dance floor.

When you ask people about a beach they know in most would say Bondi, however Coogee is definitely the up and coming beach to play. So forget Bondi, for a more relaxing laidback atmosphere or to enjoy a drink or two, head to Coogee for a great day out. Of course you could then do the Coogee to Bondi walk so you can compare both beaches in one day!
