4. The Rails
Located in the heart of Byron Bay you can find The Rails, formally known as The Railway Friendly Bar. It is a former railway station where train travellers could just order a beer directly from their window. Although the station is no longer in use for train transport, it is used for something more in the style of Byron Bay; a bar. It is a very popular place for locals to meet up after work and listen to the fantastic live music every night, although from time to time backpackers also visit this unique location. While you relax and enjoy the music you can watch sports on their various screens inside, or order one of the excellent meals they serve there.

Woody’s Surf Shack is the place to be for surfers, backpackers and locals. It’s the bar with the best nightlife in Byron Bay (in my opinion!), everybody will love the rocking vintage surf vibe.
There’s a dance floor where you can dance like no-one is watching, or just hang around and maybe meet a few people. Woody’s is open every day of the week except Sunday and is the best place to drink something after a day of surfing, laying at the beach or for those of us not on holiday… after a hard day at work. Don’t miss your chance to win a surfboard every Wednesday!
