Things to do in Noosa surfing

Most people think that there are only two activities you can do in Noosa, tan your front and tan your back. But that couldn't be more wrong! Not only are there heaps of really cool things to do in Noosa it's also very cheap!

So here's my list of 20 things to do in Noosa under $20, I call it my 20 under 20 - enjoy!

1 Noosa National Park walk - This point actually gives you at least 5 things to do as there are 5 different tracks through this very famous National Park. I would really recommend taking a picnic lunch and doing the coastal track where you can swim as well as the possible sighting of dolphins, koalas and whales.

2 Koala Spotting – Walk through the National Park and see how many Koalas you can spot! Entry to the National park is totally free and Nomads Noosa run several free buses from the Hostel to the National Park too!

3 Dolphin spotting - Chill out in the Noosa National Park and see how many dolphins you can spot! With areas like “Dolphin Point” you are bound to see loads!!!

4 Surfing - Surfing can be a load of fun but unfortunately it can be out of budget sometimes. So for a bit of fun in the sun grab a body board for free from the reception desk at Nomads Noosa.

5 Lookout! No it's not a warning! The Noosa lookout walk is amazing especially at sunset.

6 BBQ - grab some friends, grab some food and head down to the Noosa River or Noosa woods for a BBQ! Most bbq's in Noosa are free, but some are for a small fee, or come to our free sausage sizzle on a Sunday night at Nomads Noosa. Cost FREE - $3

7 Bike ride - Grab a bike and ride along the river, or venture further afield! Cost - $15 for the whole day.

8 Ferry - Seeing Noosa is great, seeing Noosa along the river system is amazing! For $20 you can do an unlimited day pass but trips start from $7

9 Farmers Market - Every Sunday at the AFL ground is the Noosa Farmers Market. Loads of fresh produce, yummy breads and delish sweets, the farmers markets are great! Plus you're supporting our local farmers, what could be better!

10 Noosa river - Grab a towel and chill out on the river. If you're a fitness buff there is also FREE exercise equipment. The river is also a great place to watch a sunrise.

11 Eumundi markets – The Eumundi Markets are on every Wednesday in Eumundi. Getting there is very easy with the free shuttle bus from Nomads Noosa.

13 Mangrove walk - Near Aldi supermarket is a walk where if you keep an eye out you will see tonnes of animals and maybe even a turtle and it's free!

14 Go Fishing – Pop down to the shops and grab some fishing gear and catch yourself some dinner! A hand reel from Big W or Target Country doesn't cost a lot.

noosa-beach-volleyball

15 Beach volleyball - grab a ball and have a punt. Nomads Noosa has its own Beach volleyball court on site or alternatively you can head down the Main beach for a game, it's a great way to make new friends, get some exercise and enjoy the lovely Noosa beach all for nothing!

16 Live music - Nothing like having a nice cold beer and listening to some tunes! Nomads Noosa and KB's bar and restaurant have live music every Wednesday night. DJ Banksy on Monday, Thursday and Friday. DJ Linamix on Saturday and an open mic night on Sundays. Cost - entertainment is FREE (alcohol has to be paid for!)

17 Movies – If, like me you are itching to see a new release, Noosa has a local cinema that is super dooper comfy! Grab your ticket for $15.50 or on a Tuesday $10.50 (extra discounts for students apply and surcharge applies to 3d movies) and don't forget the popcorn!

noosa-beach-1

18 The Beach - We're lucky to have 2 amazing beaches to choose from, the Noosa main beach and Sunshine Beach. Cost - the price of an icecream!

19 Fish and chips on the beach - Grab some friends together and grab some fish and chips down on the beach or the river. The great thing about Noosa is the Fish is fresh and cheap too, and there is definitely no shortage of fish and chip shops!!! Cost - Couple of bucks!

20 Eat! - Everybody likes to get into some munchies and Noosa is home to some of the cheapest, freshest and tastiest food in Australia. Every night at KB's Bar and Restaurant you can get yourself a $5 meal between 6 and 8pm.
