Work and Travels Jobs Program 

Working abroad should be a fun, rewarding experience. But finding a job in a new country can be difficult. By doing the Work and Travel program you don’t need to worry. We’ll give you everything you need to find work in Australia. 

• Pre arrival letter: The Work and Travel team will email you a welcome email 18 days prior to arrival date in New Zealand which includes lots of useful information including – How to get to the hostel / pre-check in information / Log in details for the Jobs program and more 
• Before You Start: We’ll sort all the important things you’ll need before you start working in New Zealand. We’ll have your NZ Bank Account open with your card and pin ready for when you arrive, along with your NZ SIM card and IRD number. 
• Training Courses: Certain jobs such as bar work and construction require you to complete specific training. We’ll explain what’s needed and can book you onto all necessary training courses after your activity week. 
• Work and Travel Members: You’ll get exclusive access to our Work and Travel Jobs portal, which includes access to a fully integrated labour hire job agency placing thousands of jobs exclusively available to WTC members only every year. You will also have access to the work and travel members portal which includes lots of useful information including an extensive WTC handbook we recommend reading before you travel
•  Unlimited Help & Advice: Your WTC consultant will give you a comprehensive ‘Work in NZ’ presentation, as well as one on one advice and support on CV Building, Job Finding, Interview Skills and anything else you’ll need to secure a great job in New Zealand.
• New Zealand Support: We have support staff in Auckland and Queenstown, ready and waiting to help with whatever you may need.

 

MEET ME AUCKLAND ITINERARY

 

DAY 1 – WELCOME TO NEW ZEALAND

Kia Ora and welcome to New Zealand! Upon Arrival, you’ll check into your accommodation and take some time to chill before meeting with your group and awesome tour leader in the afternoon. Your tour guide will give you a rundown on what’s happening this week and you’ll receive your SIM card which you can use straight away! Once we’ve got the official stuff out of the way, we’ll head to our favourite pub for a welcome dinner. Grab a drink and get to know the others in your group before your week of adventure begins.

 

DAY 2 – INFO SESSION & CITY TOUR  

Today join our group info session where we’ll explain everything you need to know about travelling around this amazing country. From Hobbiton to the adventure capital of Queenstown, we’ll tell you all about New Zealand’s must-visit destinations! If you’re here on a working holiday visa, we’ll talk to you about finding work, getting your tax number set up and other important bits like setting up your bank account. From there, it’s time to explore Auckland on our city tour! You’ll see the main hot spots, get   scoop on where to find the best coffee and food, where to go out & much more.

 

DAY 3 – BAY OF ISLANDS

Time to explore the beautiful coastline of New Zealand! In the morning we depart from Auckland and start our journey to The Bay of Islands. Along the way we stop at the Scenic Whangeri Falls for a swim and some lunch! Upon arrival, well check in to our accommodation and spend the rest of the day exploring the town and beautiful beaches of Paihia!

 

DAY 4 – SANDBOARDING & BUSH WALK & CAPE REINGA

This morning we’ll embark on a full day trip up the coast to Cape Regina, New Zealand’s northernmost point. Along the way we stop at The Puketi Kauri Forest for an up-close look at the native wildlife and the Te Paki Stream where you’ll experience the thrill of surfing down massive sand dunes! After this, we’ll spend the rest of the day exploring and taking in the scenic views from Cape Regina’s famous lighthouse while learning about the historical area!

 

DAY 5 – EXPLORE PAIHIA & AUCKLAND

Today we head back to Auckland for the remainder of the tour. Enjoy some free time in the morning to shop, explore or just hang out on the beach! Once we arrive back in Auckland you have the rest of the evening to explore the city at your leisure.

 

DAY 6 – DEVONPORT & PARTY NIGHT

Get ready for another full day of adventure! Starting with a short ferry ride to Devonport we’ll spend the day checking out the famous beaches, volcanos, shops and pubs in the area. Then its time for a party! Experience the best of Auckland’s nightlife with a bar crawl led by your group leader and free drinks along the way!

 

DAY 7 – PLANNING AHEAD

After a week of fun exploring the stunning Northern Island and all that the city of Auckland has to offer, it’s time to plan your next move! Whether you are planning on exploring other parts of New Zealand, looking for work or sticking around in Auckland for a while longer; the crew are here to help!

Terms and conditions

Cancellations: The Customer may cancel the Booking without charge if notice is given to the accommodation at least 48 hours prior to 1500 hours (local time) on the Arrival Date. Where the Customer fails to give sufficient notice of cancellation or fails to arrive (no show) at the accommodation, the entire Booking will be deemed cancelled and the pre-charged or total amount due will apply for the customers booking.
