Current specials include 2-4-1 Tuesdays with 2 meals from $12 and ‘Monday Bunday’ (burgers for $10 and steamed buns for $3) Aww yeah! Not only is Daniel San a great place to eat – but the venue plays host to weekly DJs, rooftop parties and events. Check their website for current up to date specials. How to get to there: catch the ferry from Darling Harbour or Circular Quay to Manly Beach.

2. Scary Canary – Sydney CBD

Ok where do we begin? Wood fired pizzas from $10, Burgers + Chips from $12 (our fav? The All Day Breaky Burger), $10 Steak + Chips + Salad, $10 – $12 salads and too many happy hours and drink specials for us to list. Scary’s, as the locals call it, gets pretty darn busy most nights of the week and is an ideal place if you feel like hitting the Dance Floor! Our tip? Kill two birds with one stone (we love a good pun) and head to Scarys for a cheap hearty dinner before waving your dignity goodbye.

3. Beach Burrito – Bondi

Best place to grab a bite to eat as the sun sets in Bondi. Not only are there ocean views and $35 Beer Buckets (for 5) AND 1 liter Sangria bowls for $20 – but there are loads of cheap Mexican eats. We’re talking 2 Tacos and a Tinnie for $10 (on Thursdays), 4 for $10 Taquitos, $10 or $12 Giant Tacos & $15 Nachos. Also a great place for a few drinks after dinner.

4. North Indian Cuisine – Darlinghurst

Why we love it? You can BYO (Bring your own booze)! The meals here are of an authentic Indian yumminess and you can get loads of mixed matched curries, rices and entrees for little $$$! A great place for a cheap and wholesome ‘pre night out feed’ where you can get a little boozy.

5. King Senn – Sydney CBD

Nothing too fancy but a really cheap place to grab some tasty Thai cuisine. Curries, Stir fries, Rice Dishes and Noodle Soups are all around $15 or under. Yummo!

6. Manoosh Pizza – Newtown

Who doesn’t love a cheap pizza? Tip? Make a night of it and check out Newtown’s live music scene after dinner.

7. Five Os – Coogee

The perfect way to reward yourself after the Bondi Beach to Coogee coastal walk. For every main dish on the menu, there is a budget option on offer – which means for $8 to $10 you can grab a Pasta, Steak, Burger or a Parma (got to try one in Australia! It’s a chicken schnitzel topped with ham, cheese and napoli sauce). Oh and we forgot to mention – the ocean views are amazing.

  1. Save up to 80% on food budget.

Australia has a brand new anti food waste app where food retailers can post and sell their end of day surplus food at discounted prices instead of throwing it away.

This way retailers can generate a little extra revenue on something that they normally throw away and save on wastage costs.

Customers get to eat fantastic food, save heaps of money and get to dave the planet.

The concept is brilliant for students as the savings is up to 80% and there are a lot of great shops on the app like Caltex, Sumo Salad, Soul Origin, Brumby’s Bakery, AboutLife Healthy Supermarket and many more.
