The Noosa Festival of Surfing is one of the most popular annual events in Noosa, and why wouldn’t it be with all those hunky surfer dudes hanging around town?! Even if you don’t think you’re into surfing this is one event that you should try and be in Noosa for. The festival has been running since the early ’90’s and since its humble beginnings has grown into a massive world renowned event.
Although the main purpose of the Noosa Festival of Surfing is obviously surfing, the event is also a celebration of the surfing way of life. Cool dudes and partying! During the week long event there are numerous live bands playing around town. One whole week, 7 days full of activities and definitely worth a visit each day.
The event starts early in the morning and finishes in the evening each day. It’s a combination of watching the amateur and pro surfers compete with each other and cultural entertainment. Good music, art exhibitions and movies and some close up shots of the surfing greats on big screens during the day.
The Noosa festival of surfing is the biggest riding event for pros, teams and amateurs in the world! Even dogs on surfboards were there a few years ago, which was epic to watch for all of us! Surfers and visitors come from all over the world, e.g. Japan, USA, France and New Zealand, ranging from 15 years or even younger up to 80 years and older. Surfing disciplines such as Stand Up Paddle, Finless, Noserider, and the main discipline, Longboard Surfing are all on show. All for free!
