Kings Cross: The Sydney that never sleeps!

The city seen from Kings Cross

Close to the city centre and within walking distance from Nomads Westend Backpackers Hostel is the partying heaven for every backpacker: Kings Cross, or as the locals call it ”The Cross”. It is located just outside of the CBD of Sydney which offers you a perfect, and especially at night time impressive, view over the city.

In Sydney, where most of the bars and pubs close shortly after midnight, Kings Cross is one of the few places that keeps the party going throughout the night! So why not have a night out and party with some locals at this great place.

Kings Cross is nowadays a mix of trendy bars versus good old pubs, classy hotels versus cheap backpackers hostels and luxurious dining versus cheap take away food. There is basically something to find for everybody’s wants, needs and different tastes.

The most famous part of Kings Cross is Darlinghurst Road with all it’s shops and little side streets and back alleys. It is the perfect place if you’re searching for old cozy pubs, local restaurants or bars, where you can get together with locals for dinner or a nice cold drink. The locals will be more than pleased to tell you their very own story about this famous area of Sydney.

If you’re strolling through Kings Cross don’t forget to enjoy the view over town, which is simply wonderful, or at least take a glimpse on your way back home.
