New Legislation affects Fraser Island

New  legislation  came into effect on Fraser Island on July 1st 2010. There are significant changes to the safety regulations which will change the face of touring on Fraser island. Nomads Fraser Island Tours have made several changes to their vehicles to comply with the new rules.

Nomads Fraser Island Tours vehicles have undergone overhauls to meet the required criteria. We have also retired all of the old vehicles and purchased replacement vehicles. Luggage cages were fabricated and installed in all our cars to ensure our passengers safety.

The  Tag-tour  lead  vehicles  (late  model  Land cruiser  Prado)  are equipped with satellite phone, cable winch, recovery kit and trauma first aid kit.  These lead vehicles will be driven by an appointed guide with a maximum of 7 passengers.

Nomads professional guides have an extensive knowledge of the Island and an experience enabling them to ensure time on Fraser Island is maximised and safety is assured. We have chosen a fun crew to ensure our guests have both an informative, safe and enjoyable time on the Island.
