Queenstown New Year’s Eve celebration
Where: Earnslaw Park, Queenstown.
Head down to the lakefront to see in the New Year with live music from local bands, a variety of other entertainment and of course a fantastic fireworks display lighting up the night sky at midnight! The entertainment starts at 7.30pm and goes through until 1am, it’s recommended to get there early to grab yourself a good spot. There will be an alcohol ban in the area, but don’t worry as Queenstown has many bars to keep you going all night long. The event is FREE!
Rhythm and Alps Music Festival
Where: Wanaka.
One of New Zealand’s biggest music festivals – Rhythm and Alps is a 2 day event that takes place in beautiful Cardrona Valley, situated between Queenstown and Wanaka (about a 40 minute drive from Queenstown). Bar Crawls
The greatest thing about New Zealand is that you have an abundance of bars within walking distance from one another. Big Night Out and Kiwi Crawl offer New Year’s Eve Bar Crawls each year and you can book these from the Mad Travel Desk at Nomads Queenstown.
