Sydney Travel Guide

Sydney, Australia's largest city, is one of the most magnificent and entertaining cities in the world and to be honest, you just need to ‘get in amongst it and go for it’!

Sydney simply exudes that city lifestyle but if it all gets a little much for you, Sydney offers more beaches than you could possibly imagine visiting, from surf beaches to family beaches, to party beaches and even nudist beaches!

Even if you head a little further out of the city itself you can visit stunning scenery in the form of the Blue Mountains and chill out amongst the trees and piano bars.

When people speak about pushing themselves to the limit, giving 110%, putting in all they have… I think why?? I’m so blissfully happy in ambling mediocrity why do anything to interrupt this quaint way of life I’ve casually put together.

To me pushing it to the limit means actually getting up when my alarm goes off rather than snooze it for an hour or "accidently" turning it off. Giving 110%... merely describes the occasions where I submit my work on time.

Taronga zoo sydney feeding kangaroo

Here I am, two months in Sydney with only one month until I return back to my home country of France. With only limited time left in this amazing city I really felt the need to make the most of it… bring on my "to do" list! And at the very top of my list was to visit the world famous Taronga Zoo!

Taronga Zoo is located in the exclusive suburb of Mosman on the northern side of Sydney Harbour about half way between Circular Quay and Manly. A day at Taronga Zoo is more like an expedition rather than a simple visit to an ordinary zoo.

Thinking of escaping Sydney city for the day to experience what this beautiful place has to offer? Well, I have the perfect place for you! Read on and you will be planning your trip before you reach the end of the article.

When visitors to Sydney plan their day trips, a very large majority will head to the seaside suburbs of Bondi, Coogee or Manly. Quite rightly so, these places are popular with locals and travellers and certainly worth a visit. But it is possible that you may have been to these places before or maybe you're just up for something a little different.

Bored of the usual backpacker bars? Actually the backpacker bars that Sydney has to offer are quite good, however if you do want to try something different why not go and check out one of the most popular bars and nightclubs in Sydney... The Ivy?

Swap your flip-flops / thongs for high heels, your bungy t-shirt for a collared shirt, slap on the lippy and let down your hair and party with the young and trendy locals at The Ivy.

Queens Park Sydney, Sunday 2pm - Bouldering. Bouldering? What on earth is that I hear you ask...

Well it's basically rock climbing except you climb at a lower height and you don't have ropes! After looking for a ride to the park for over an hour I finally found my friend who was going there as well. We drove to Queens Park which took about 15 minutes to get there from central station, however it'll only take 30 minutes by bus and there are several different buses you can take from near Nomads Westend to get there. (I recommend the 378).
