Blue duck station

Blue Duck Station is an absolutely amazing place in the middle of nowhere, or at least, that's what it feels like. The owners of this piece of land have dedicated themselves to nature conservation and are trying to educate the visitors and the locals of the importance of this. When we arrived here we were welcomed by Dan, who told us about the property, the history and all the conservation work that they are doing.

skydive byron bay

Recently, myself and two other staff members from the Mad Travel shop at Nomads Arts Factory, ventured out to Tyagarah Airport at 7am, as we decided it was time to jump out of a plane and see Byron Bay from an amazing birds eye view.

We were all nervous and yet at the same time very excited. It was a last minute decision we made at The Arts Factory 20th birthday party... a place where the most outrageous decisions are usually made.

Most people visit Rotorua because of it's famous spas, hot pools and geysers (and for all the Maori culture you can experience there too), but did you know there is a Redwood forest located just five minutes from Rotorua city? If you love the oudoors then this area will be special for you.

The Whakarewarewa Forest is an important feature of the Rotorua landscape providing an exquisite backdrop to Rotorua city, it's also one of the movie locations for The Forbidden Forest in the Harry Potter film.

Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane from 15,000ft is not something everyone would do, but for me it's something I have wanted to do for years, and I finally got the chance with Nzone skydive in Queenstown.

After calling for the morning weather check and finding out that my jump was going ahead, I signed my life away and headed out to the jump zone. The jump zone is a short 20 minutes drive from central Queenstown, at the base of the spectacular snow capped Remarkables mountain range.

Mt Buller Skifields

I don't like the cold and I sure as hell don't have the skills required to successfully navigate a piece of well shaped wood down an icy mountain. Nevertheless we packed our day bags and ventured forth 3 1/2 hrs out of Melbourne to join other snowsport enthusiasts at Mt Buller.

We left the comfort of our warm beds at Nomads All Nations at 6am 0_O to get there just before lunch, leaving plenty of time to make snowmen, snow angels, throw snowballs and of course snowboard!

Cairns is the place to be when it comes to adrenaline filled activities and next on my list was white water rafting on the Tully river! On the morning of my trip I made my way to the Raging Thunder office and checked in for what I knew was going to be a great day. It was 6.30am, but the staff do a good job of waking you up with their enthusiasm of what to expect on the day.

So leaving my hostel in Queenstown I wasn't really sure what to expect of this day... But I was feeling nervous! Upon arriving at the Canyon Swing office I was greeted with a warm smile and a wonderful light breakfast provided by the Shotover Canyon Swing staff. I was checked in and got a chance to meet some of the others that were about to be thrown off a cliff attached only by a rope and harness and swung at a high speed over a beautiful river running between through the Canyon.

There are many options when it comes to overnight boat trips in the Whitsundays. Whether you want to dive, snorkel, sail, hang out on a massive catamaran, get your party on, or just laze in the sun, there is no shortage of options departing from Airlie Beach to the islands. I recently had the opportunity to board one of these boats and experience it for myself. I went on the Atlantic Clipper 2 day 2 night tour and I had the most amazing time!

They've got it all; from the jacuzzi spa on the top deck and 2 water slides, snorkeling and scuba dive options, and just some good old crazy fun! If you're in your 20's looking to have a good time with a crew that puts on a great show, this is the trip for you.
