Cape Reinga lighthouse

Want to visit the northernmost point of New Zealand? Join Great Sights New Zealand on their Cape Reinga and Ninety Mile Beach Tour and experience it yourself.

During our three day trip with Stray to the beautiful Bay of Islands, we decided to visit New Zealands most Northern point as well. In the morning, the Great Sights New Zealand coach picked us up  in front of The Bay Adventurer Hostel in Paihia and promised us a day of good fun.

otehei bay bay of islands

When I came to New Zealand, I found out that there are quite a few places where I could swim with dolphins. So straight away I put this on my 'New Zealand to do list' and always hoped I could make it come true. Last week, I did a three day trip to the Bay of Islands and on one of those days my dream came true. I booked a Bay of Islands Day Tour which included a Swim with Dolphins Cruise with Great Sights New Zealand!

Our Kahu Kayak adventure in Abel Tasman National Park came as part of a full day tour with Abel Tasman Sailing Adventures which involved the morning kayaking, a half hour walk for your lunch and then an afternoon sailing, or sunbathing, aboard a catamaran. Sounds like a pretty sweet day, and it was.

When people speak about pushing themselves to the limit, giving 110%, putting in all they have… I think why?? I’m so blissfully happy in ambling mediocrity why do anything to interrupt this quaint way of life I’ve casually put together.

To me pushing it to the limit means actually getting up when my alarm goes off rather than snooze it for an hour or "accidently" turning it off. Giving 110%... merely describes the occasions where I submit my work on time.

Unsure what to do with a day in Auckland? There are many options such as our own awesome free walking tour, but sometimes, just sometimes you can't be assed to walk? That's fair enough, it's a big city, lots to see, so why not jump on Stray's Free City Day Tour. There must be a catch right, a free bus tour... come on... But no, no catch, Stray Travel are just pretty damn awesome that's all.

Cairns is known for its beautiful scenic views, stunning surroundings and the endless activities that you can partake in. There is something for everyone. The only thing missing from Cairns is a beach. There is the option of spending the day at Cairns Esplanade lagoon or chilling by a swimming pool but sometimes a day at the beach is a nice change. Although the walk along the Esplanade runs alongside the ocean, due to restrictions, (aka crocodiles), you are not able to swim there. In this weather having cold water to jump into to cool off is a must so it's a good job that there are numerous beaches not too far away.

Did you know there are 25 regional parks near Auckland? Visiting these parks can bring you a special experience and help you to get to know more about local stuff and the NZ culture. If you are a person who likes to travel like a local, you won't want to miss these.

I went to Duder Regional Park which is located in east Auckland. It takes about 50 minutes to drive there from Auckland city. Follow the SH1 south and take the Manurewa Hill Road and Botanic Gardens exit, get through Clevedon town, then you will arrive at the Duder Regional Park.

The first time I walked on the main beach in Byron Bay I felt so sorry for my friends back in (cold and wet) Holland. It was so amazing, I saw people everywhere with surfboards and tight wetsuits. I thought, if I really want to experience Byron Bay, I must become a surfer.

Since I am from Holland, I had never surfed before. We have plenty of beaches but no big waves and the water is brown coloured, so not very inviting...
