When discussing what to do in Cairns, one thing that often came up in conversation was the name 'Uncle Brian'. For weeks I wondered who this 'Uncle Brian' everyone was raving about was and did not for the life of me understand. One day I was informed that Uncle Brian's was in fact a tour that visits some of the most spectacular scenery and places in Cairns and even by looking at pictures I knew why everyone made such a big deal of it. I could not wait to do it so I booked my trip and off I went on one of the most memorable days (till now) of my journey.

Experience The real "Aussie Bush" with Ace Adventure Tours. It's a great day out where you spend the day visiting rainforests and waterfalls and you even get to listen to Dreamtime Stories from the Jirral Tribe! This is a great way to visit the Far North. You share your day with a small group of people and experienced local Aussies who know the area best.

I will be totally honest with you, when one of my mates suggested visiting Cable Ski Cairns on our day off I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I don't think I even really understood what it was. But nevertheless I thought I would give it a try I mean how hard could it be...

Cable Ski Cairns is located around 10 minutes north of the city centre and set in beautiful surroundings. From here you can see the Kuranda Skyrail Rainforest Cableway line running deep into the rainforest and all the mountains that surround it.

Reef Magic Cruises Cairns

After staying in Cairns for a few months without making the obligatory visit to the Great Barrier Reef.. we finally took the plunge with Reef Magic Cruises. Spending Christmas on The Great Barrier Reef seemed like a nice idea, so we booked a day trip with our friendly host for Reef Magic Cruises - Karim the frenchy/pirate...

An altogether unpleasant start time of 08.30 was arranged, but it turned out to be well worth it.

Foaming Fury 2 Man Sports Raft cairns

Foaming Fury offers two different typers of rafting trips. Whitewater Rafting and Sports Rafting. Sports Rafting? What on earth is that I hear you cry... Well it's the new thing to do with Foaming Fury who are white water rafting specialists in Cairns on The Barron River. What a wicked half day beauty this rafting trip is. No need to worry about the weather because Sports Rafting can obviously be done in the wet (because you're going to get soaked anyway!).
