With its large common areas, Cable TV and a chilled rooftop terrace area with our famous weekly BBQ's you can relax at Funkhouse backpackers Sydney & sink a couple of beers while watching the sunset over City and Harbour views. There is a fully equipped kitchen for you to use and laundry facilities too and with only 3 to 4 beds in each dormitory you can book a room with your mates.
The Funk House is owned and run by travellers for travellers. We want you to have the best experience of Sydney and Australia. We are centrally located in the Kings Cross area, that has everything to offer in terms of entertainment. This means you're only minutes away from the best bars, clubs, (take away) restaurants, and cafes. Come and join us daily in a different, Funky, evening activity!

You may cancel your booking up to twenty-four hours before arrival. Please do so directly with the relevant hostel.
DEPOSITS ARE NON REFUNDABLE.
In the event of a no-show without cancellation, the hostel has the right to charge your credit card for the first night's stay where you have booked accommodation.
Every effort is made to ensure the hostel processes your bookings correctly.
Your contract is with the hostel, not nomadsworld.com. It is the hostel's responsibility to provide you with the services.
On arrival, you are required to pay for the total nights you have booked. We accept payments by cash, credit card, eftpos or Australian dollar travellers cheques. If you need to cancel your booking a minimum of 48 hours notice is required, otherwise you will be charged for the nights you have booked.
Please be aware that special conditions apply over the Christmas and New Years Period. There cannot be any check ins or check outs on Christmas day (25th Dec) or New Years day (1st Jan). From the airport
If you are staying for one week or more the pick up is free. For those staying three-to-six nights the cost to you is $3 per person. If you're staying less than 3 days it's $12 per person. See your booking confirmation email for contact information. The Shuttle Bus operates between 5am and 8.30pm.
If you arrive before the reception opens you can call the shuttle company direct and arrange a pick-up with them. If you arrive after 8.30pm you will need to arrange your own transport. There are some airport shuttle buses operating until 12am; they charge $15 per person.
Our office hours are 7am to 10pm (Mon-Sat) and 8am-8pm (Sun); if you need to check-in outside these times please call when you arrive - we have a night manager on overnight who will check you in.
From the Central Station
Take the train from platform 24 to King's Cross (only seven minutes). Turn left out of the train station and walk along Darlinghurst Road. We're 200 metres up on the left-hand side.
