Here to help you with your group accommodation in Cairns

I know that organising a group away from home can be a challenge. For the last 5 years that I have been running Nomads Cairns, my team and I have hosted hundreds of groups of all sizes. From small sporting teams of five people through to school groups of hundreds.

We have a great location for group bookings. Just far enough out of town to be away from the nightlife but right next to the Esplanade and just 5 minutes walk to the botanical gardens. Free parking is provided and there is also room for your bus. If you are arriving by plane we can also arrange transfers for you to the hostel - we are just a 5 minute drive away so no long travel times.

Our facilities set us apart from the rest. We have a huge swimming pool, beach volleyball court, pool tables, ping pong and air hockey tables, TV area, general store and self service kitchen areas for you to prepare meals for the group.

You don’t have to do it all yourself though. Our restaurant can provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ask about our $10 dinner pack! If you have busy days planned we can also provide packed lunches as well.

Your groups safety and security is important to us. We supply rooms exclusively for your group and will not put non-group members into one of your rooms if you can’t fill it up - and we don’t charge for any extra beds you don’t fill. All of our rooms are protected with swipe card access and communal areas are security monitored. The dorm rooms all have shared bathrooms (male and female separate), are all air-conditioned and all linen is provided. Guests do need to bring their own towels.

We have private rooms available for group leaders and depending on group size can also provide free group leader and driver rooms. These rooms have double or twin beds and have private ensuite shower and toilet.

We can also organise tours and trips for your group if you need - we have info on the following options:

  • Daintree and Cape Tribulation trips - experience the unique Tropical North rainforests
  • Crocodile Experience at Hartleys Crocodile Adventures
  • Cairns Wildlife Dome in the town centre
  • White Water Rafting on the Tully River
  • Atherton Tablelands waterfall trip
  • Adventure sports? Skydiving and bungy jumping also available for the more adventurous types!

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call me (or the team) on +61 7 4040 7777 or fill out the group booking form

No request is too big or too small - I’m looking forward to helping you plan your next trip away!

The dormitory accommodation is excellent, the helpful staff are 1st rate, and the wonderful facilities which includes an outdoor pool, beach volleyball, table tennis, pool tables, kitchen, recreational area, bistro, etc are superb.

In addition, the catering / meals provided by Paul and the kitchen staff are superb, and meet all our packed & ready to go when the group is enjoying a day trip.

We have been working with Nomads Serpent since 2010 and I can say that the hostel has exceeded expectations over and over. All our participants have been very satisfied with their stays at the hostel.

The management and staff are always willing to help and will go that extra mile for client satisfaction. It is this flexibility and approach that puts them ahead of other places. Their good location, free shuttle service, big pool, good facilities and efficient staff means you can fully enjoy all that Cairns and the Far North Queensland region has to offer.

The Oceania Athletics Association has had the opportunity to work with the team at Nomads Cairns over the past 2 years. We have had large groups numbering more than 200 who have been accommodated at Nomads and smaller groups down to single figures. The attention to service that the team at Nomads offers is sensational.

From arrival through to departure you will feel like you are staying at a friend’s house. The rooms are always clean, the gardens and pool are pristine and the meals in the bar are always hearty and satisfying.

Cairns Nomads is close enough to the City yet far enough away to make it the perfect accommodation for groups.
