Byron Bay is a very popular and well known place because of the whole atmosphere the town has. One of the most well known attractions is Byron Bay lighthouse. Byron Bay is perfect for surfers, and not as touristy as the Gold Coast and that is the reason why it is so popular with most backpackers, it’s much more laidback and relaxed than many tourist spots on the East Coast and not as overcrowded.
Byron Bay is a place where backpackers can drop their bags and chill for a couple of days in the Arts factory Backpackers lodge, go for a surf, hang around and meet lots of other backpackers but you can’t come here and not visit the lighthouse. Both Nomads hostels in Byron Bay offer trips to the lighthouse for only $5 to see the sunrise.
Alternatively you can go up for a walk to the lighthouse. Once you’re at the top you can see the sunrise from the most eastern point of the Australian mainland and when the sun has risen it’s quite common to see dolphins.
Byron Bay lighthouse is located on top of a little mountain and due to this it will give you an amazing bay view of both beaches. For more information come and see us at The Arts Factory Backpackers Lodge and ask the friendly staff.
Come and stay for a couple of days (and maybe get stuck here for a couple of weeks because you’re too relaxed to go anywhere else) you will love it.
