Most people in Sydney have seen Bondi Beach… But have you ever done the Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach Walk?
You take the bus to Bondi beach, which takes about 40 minutes. The start is next to the beach with a beautiful view of the world famous Bondi Beach. You have plenty of time to enjoy the view and take millions of pictures before you start walking.
The beginning of the walk is in my opinion a bit disappointing, because the view is not that beautiful and it’s a bit smelly. But the disappointment only lasts a few minutes… Stunning cliffs appears and the gorgeous view will surprise you. This does not stop during the rest of the entire walk!
During the 2-hour walk you will see Tamarama, Bronte and Coogee beach. The walk is pretty long but the beauty of the cliffs, the ocean and the nature will amaze you.
You will also see the Waverley Cemetery. This Cemetery is located next to the coastline and has some amazing ocean views... You will be amazed at how impressive the cemetery looks.
The last bit of the walk is the most difficult part, some steep steps make sure that your legs will burn. But for the unfit, there are some benches so you can take a well earned rest and a drink of water.
The walk will be over in a flash, and the reward after the long walk is a dive into the fresh ocean at Coogee beach.
When you are hungry you can take a visit to the supermarket and enjoy a BBQ in one of the provided barbeques close to the beach.
The bus ride takes about 40 min, and you need to buy your own bus ticket, which is not too expensive. You’re just going to love the famous Bondi beach! It’s just like it is on the TV (of course). But when you do the walk you won’t even be thinking about Bondi anymore, everything is just so beautiful!
Once a week on Saturday around 12.45 you can do this AMAZING, and very famous, walk from Bondi to Coogee with Westend Backpackers.
