Do something different, something that can awaken all your senses. Come to Eumundi Markets near Noosa (pronounced U-Mun-Dee)! This market – not too small, not too big and not so far from Noosa – is the ideal place to spend a morning, buy some souvenirs, have breakfast (for the early bird) or lunch, or just browse and enjoy the festive laid-back atmosphere.

The markets have always focused on locally made produce, their motto is “Make it, Bake it, Grow it or Sew it”. There is no better place to get your hands on a bit of REAL Australiana to send home for Christmas.

From Arts and Crafts to Pet Accessories, and Massages and Skincare to Fashion and Jewellery, there are so many things on offer and for all different prices, you’re sure to find something you want to buy. And after you have done some shopping whilst smelling all the food coming from the stalls, you will not be able to resist trying some of it!

My tip? Get the early bus, have breakfast, browse the stalls and do some shopping (if you can visit and not buy anything I’ll be surprised) and then have lunch at one of the many international food stalls whilst listening to some live music! (You can find a huge variety of food here: Asian, Turkish, French, Italian…)

Easy, no?

Eumundi Markets, a brief history

In 1979 two young women decided to hold an Arts and Farmers market in Eumundi, as a place for locals to express and develop their skills.

They set up a total of 3 stalls outside the Country Women’s Association Hall and sold refreshments inside. The grand total of 8 visitors and $30 profit was the illustrious beginning of the nationally famous Eumundi Markets we know and love today. These lovely ladies are the reason I need a second job and an exercise plan!

The town is still populated today by artisans, crafts people and the alternative life style followers so at this Market you can visit so many different stalls: crafts, arts and oddities all surrounded by live music and a laid back atmosphere in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Eumundi Markets gives you a great insight into the local culture of the Sunshine Coast. There is a really good and relaxing vibe at the Eumundi Markets. I have been there many times and it never gets old! Skip breakfast at your hostel and go for a delicious breakfast, browse the stalls and spend money then treat yourself to some lunch, you won’t regret it!

Enjoy the live music, friendly people and good vibe… There really is no better way to start your day!! See ya there!

  1. Hello-

When I was in Auatrailia I went to the Eumundi market and loved the beaded wind chimes that a lady was selling. I wish I bought one. I hoped she had a web site but cannot locate it. Could you please send me her contact information and or webiste?

Thank you! I love Eumundi markets and can’t wait to go back!
