One of the things I've enjoyed the most up the East Coast of Australia was a boat trip around the Whitsunday Islands. Because I thought I might be a little sea- sick we booked a catamaran, The Avatar. The boat is amazing. The Avatar is a 67ft racing trimaran primarily built for speed, the nets between the boat are perfect to relax on and if you want to, you can sleep on the nets at night.
The last night we decided to sleep outside, but unfortunately it started to rain at five in the morning! We were staying on the boat with a nice bunch of people of every age, there were twenty of us on The Avatar so that is just enough to get to know everybody very well.
To be honest I'm not a fan of swimming in the ocean between all the fish, but there were so many other things to see and to do that I really enjoyed this tour. And when you're in Australia one of the things you really have to see is Whitehaven beach, first you walk to a point where you can see the beach and take pictures of it, this is one of the most photographed beaches in the world, and you'll see why when you get there! After you've enjoyed the view you make your way to the beach to have a swim in the crystal clear water and get a tan on the whitest sand you've ever seen.
If I had the chance to go back there I would definitely do it and I'm sure I would choose the same boat again, why try something else if you know you are going to have a great trip on the Avatar. At the moment I'm sitting at work here at Nomads Airlie Beach and looking at the brochure of the Avatar and I really wish I was back there!
